The 5-Day Classic Safari to the Isebania Border follows the same celebrated route as our other Nakuru–Mara itineraries, with one key difference: a full night in Nairobi before setting out, giving you time to settle in after your flight before the safari itself begins. From there, the route heads to Lake Nakuru National Park, home to a celebrated rhino sanctuary and shifting flamingo populations, before continuing to two full days in the Maasai Mara.
The Mara section includes a full day dedicated entirely to game drives across the reserve’s open plains and the Mara River, with an optional Maasai village visit available. From the Mara, the route continues directly to the Isebania Border for those continuing their journey into Tanzania. Travel throughout is in a private 4×4 safari vehicle with a professional driver-guide, priced for groups of 2 to 6 travelers.
Upon your arrival at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) in Nairobi, you will be met by our representative and transferred to your hotel in the city for check-in and lunch.
The rest of the day is at leisure. Depending on your arrival time, you can choose to relax at the hotel or explore the surrounding area before the safari itself begins tomorrow.
A comfortable base in Nairobi for your arrival night, on a bed and breakfast basis.
After an early breakfast, you'll depart Nairobi for Lake Nakuru National Park. Upon arrival, you'll check in at your lodge followed by lunch.
In the late afternoon, you'll enjoy a game drive in the park. Lake Nakuru is famous for its flamingos and rich birdlife, with over 400 species recorded, and you may also spot white and black rhinos, buffaloes, warthogs, and possibly leopards.
Full-board lodge close to the park, well placed for both morning and evening game drives.
After breakfast, you'll depart for the world-renowned Maasai Mara. Upon arrival, you'll check in at your lodge and enjoy a hot lunch.
Later in the afternoon, you'll head out on your first game drive in the Maasai Mara, home to the Big Five and the Great Wildebeest Migration in season, before returning to the lodge in the evening for dinner.

After an early breakfast, you'll spend a full day exploring the Mara with packed lunch boxes. This is your best chance to spot lions, cheetahs, elephants, buffalo, giraffes, and more, as you explore different regions of the reserve, including the Mara River.
There is an optional visit to a traditional Maasai village for a cultural experience, at an additional cost, before returning to the lodge in the evening for dinner.
Overnight again at your Maasai Mara camp.
After breakfast, you'll check out and begin your scenic drive towards the Isebania Border to continue your journey into Tanzania.
You'll be transferred to the border with assistance provided for your crossing, bringing your Kenya safari to a close as you continue your journey south.
Travel throughout this safari is in a private land cruiser, used exclusively by your group with a professional English-speaking guide-driver. Rates are priced per person based on 2–6 travelers sharing one vehicle. Rates vary by season — low season runs April to May, and peak season runs July to October. Prices quoted are net and exclude agent commission; accommodation is subject to availability at the time of booking. If you’re continuing into Tanzania, our team will assist with the formalities at the Isebania Border crossing.
